As a young person she attended nursing school, but after suffering TB, her career took a different path. She began her professional life as an early “code girl” at NSA, and then had a long career at the CIA while she raised her family in Falls Church, VA. In retirement she enjoyed working at the Williamsburg Busch Gardens Fest Haus for several years while her husband drove the locomotive there.
She was predeceased by her husband, William Converse, Sr. in 2012.
Survivors include sons, Ray Converse (Mary) and William Converse, Jr. (Janice); former daughter-in-law, Theresa Garrison; grandchildren, Ryan Converse, Michelle Converse Elliot, Lara Converse, Cary Converse; and several nieces and nephews.
