Melanie Elizabeth Lipsky

Melanie was born in Brunswick, GA on January 21, 1992. She grew up in southeast Georgia, south Florida, New Mexico and east Tennessee. Melanie grauduated from Oak Ridge High School in 2009 and attended the University of Tennessee at Chattanooga.

Melanie was a free spirit who loved her family, friends and everything beautiful in this world. She loved to scuba dive, attend music concerts and make people smile. Her life was full of possibility and wonder and her kind and gentle soul inspired all who ever loved her.

Melanie is survived by her father and mother, Jerold Lipsky and Margaret Lipsky-Cowan, step parents Sally Lipsky and Christopher Cowan; Brother Andrew Lipsky and nephew Mako Lipsky. Grandmothers Carol Lipsky and Katherine McCune and Grandfather Daniel Priest; Aunts and Uncles Wanda and Denny Fox, Eric and Nancy Priest, and Cathy and Dennis Davis. Cousins Michelle Falin and Jeremy McCellan. She is also survived by her best friend, and cat, Calvin.

A service to celebrate her life will be held at Nelsen Funeral Home in Williamsburg, VA at 11 am with the family receiving at 10 am. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that you please make a donation in her memory to either the National Wildlife Federation or the Key Deer Protection Alliance.
