Michael Allen Dement peacefully went home to the Lord on Saturday, June 8, 2024. Born in Portland, Oregon in June of 1956, Michael's life was marked by athleticism and a profound devotion to family. As a standout quarterback at Adams High School, his passion for sports ignited. Following his graduation, he pursued higher education, earning an accounting degree from Portland State University.
In 1984, fate led him to Linda Faber, the love of his life. Their bond blossomed quickly, culminating in marriage in 1985. Together, they welcomed their sons, Kurtis Michael in 1988 and Jack in 1998, completing their family.
A fervent supporter of the Portland Trailblazers, Michael's loyalty spanned decades. For nearly 25 years, he held season tickets, sharing in the triumph of their sole championship victory in 1977. Beyond sports, Michael was an entrepreneur at heart. He founded two thriving businesses, including the beloved Boston’s Pub & Grill in Wilsonville, Oregon.
In 2000, seeking new horizons, Michael relocated his family to Williamsburg, Virginia. There, he pursued his career as a stockbroker and established his own consulting business, leaving an indelible mark on the community he embraced.
Michael's journey was shaped by the love and support of his family. He was preceded in death by his parents, Merle and Lucille, but his spirit lives on through his devoted wife, Linda, his sons Kurtis and Jack, his daughter-in-law Treva, his adored grandchildren, William and Olivia, and his sisters, Sherrill, Janice, and Carolyn.
The family kindly requests donations in Michael's honor to the Alzheimer’s Association, a cause close to our hearts.
