Michael Allen Shiller

Michael graduated from Christopher Newport College, continued his education at VA Commonwealth University receiving his master’s degree, followed by doctorate work at from Kent State University, Ohio. He was an Assistant Professor and Director of theatre at Northern State University in Aberdeen, South Dakota, as well as Director of Theatre at the University of Minnesota. Michael also directed plays at the Black Hills Theatre in South Dakota and taught theatre at William & Mary University.

He served in the Army during the Vietnam War and received a Purple Heart and a Bronze Star.

He was preceded in death by his father, Clarence Klein and Step-father, Abraham Shiller. He is survived by his mother, Beverly Shiller and his brother, Stephen (Marie) Klein.

A funeral service will be held at Nelsen Funeral Home, 3785 Strawberry Plains Rd., Williamsburg, VA, on Friday, September 11 at 3pm. Burial will take place at Arlington National Cemetery with full military honors at a later date.
