

Nancy Koerts Rivolta completed her earthly journey unexpectedly on August 2, 2015 following an automobile accident in Williamsburg. She was born November 17, 1932 to Helen Grace and Harry William Voorhess in Livingston Manor, New York. She is survived by her husband of 61 years, John Joseph Rivolta, Jr. of Williamsburg; son, John Joseph Rivolta III (Nikki) and daughter, Lisa Marie Rivolta (Joan Meisen) of VT; sister, Mary L. Voorhess, M.D., and brother, Albert “Bud” A. Voorhess (Marylyn) of Williamsburg. A sister, Sarah J. Pettifer, of Rochester, NY, predeceased her.
Nancy received her BSN from SUNY Plattsburg. She was well known for her basic and practical knowledge about geriatrics, dementia and Alzheimer’s Disease. She began her career in Burlington, VT as the first Director of the Interfaith Senior Center and then Director of the Foster Grandparent Program and the Adult Day Program of the Visiting Nurse Association. After moving to Williamsburg she led the Memory Unit at Williamsburg Landing for nearly 20 years and gave many lectures in the community about cognitive issues.
Nancy had many talents. She published a unique book entitled, “Circle of Love”, which was a collection of recipes and a remembrance about each contributor… based on her own recollection of the person… all of whom had touched her life sometime. Profits were donated to the Champlain Senior Center of Burlington, VT. She loved to have family gatherings and her dinner table always has special decorations and food. The Boston Red Sox were important players in her life. Nancy was a member of St. Stephen Lutheran Church and Order of St. Luke Healing Society in Williamsburg.
Memorial services will be held at a later date. Interment will occur in the Memorial Garden of Ascension Lutheran Church in South Burlington, Vermont, a church Nancy and her husband, John, helped found.
