Patricia Ann Lawson

Pat Lawson passed away on December 5, 2023 in Williamsburg, VA, where she had lived for the past 20 years. She was born in 1952 and raised in Waterbury, CT. In 1973, she moved to Yorktown, VA, where she lived for 29 years. She attended Waterbury Hospital School of Nursing, and graduated in 1972 as a Registered Nurse. For one year, she worked for Waterbury Hospital until she met the love of her life, John, while visiting a childhood friend at Buckroe Beach, Hampton, VA. Pat and John married in 1974, and enjoyed 49 years of joyful marriage. Pat worked full time for 32 years and part time for 7 1/2 years for Riverside Hospital, retiring in 2013 as a Telemetry Nurse. Pat was extremely caring, compassionate and sympathetic to everyone. Pat was preceded in death by her parents, Raymond Aubertin and Shirley Richards; and brothers, Carl "Butch" Aubertin and Raymond "Ray" Aubertin. She is survived by her two siblings, Barbara Peck (Mike) of Yorktown, VA, Kenneth "Ken" Aubertin (Donna) of Prospect, CT. She is also survived by her husband, John Lawson of Williamsburg, VA; daughters, Sue Bovat of Torrington, CT, Kimberly Wilson (John) of Mechanicsville, VA; sons, Thomas Lawson (Mary) of Poquoson, VA, and Erik Lawson (Lindsay) of Yorktown, VA; seven grandchildren, Kirstie, John, Matthew, Connor, Wyatt, Sarah and Matt; one great-grandchild, Leo; and her sister's children that she loved and treated as her own, Ryan, Ashley and Adam. Pat loved music and loved to dance, attending many concerts with her family and friends. She was always ready for a family board game, and all her nieces and nephews that she loved so dearly couldn’t get enough. In her youth, she spent time with her friends roller skating, and caring for her younger siblings. Our family extends heartfelt gratitude to Brookdale Chambrel of Williamsburg Clare Bridge Memory Care for their compassionate care of Pat. A Celebration of Life will take place at Nelsen Funeral Home, 3785 Strawberry Plains Rd., Williamsburg on Saturday, January 27 from 2:00 – 4:00 PM.
