

Paul was born in LaRue, Ohio on August 4, 1920 to Mabel (Rodgers) and Earl Sager. Paul married Betty Lou Ballinger on February 17, 1943 and recently celebrated their 74th wedding anniversary.
Paul was a patriotic American who served his country in WWII. He was stationed in the Pacific on the LCI 701 for the US Navy. He was a member of the Phillipi - Clement American Legion Post 101 and served as Commander of the post as well as Chaplin during his longtime membership. One of his most treasured memories was his trip to the WWII memorial via the Honor Flight Network.
Paul was proud to be elected as a Bowling Green Township Trustee. He was member of the LaRue United Methodist Church. He was an avid gardener who was especially proud of his beautiful iris bed. He enjoyed reading and watching birds from his comfortable screened-in porch, where he’d often pass the time putting together jigsaw puzzles or just talking with friends.
He is survived by his wife Betty, sons Jim and Jon (Debby) Sager, daughters Tamyan (Scott) Gandert and Trisha Girard. Also surviving are 6 grandchildren, 3 greatgrandchildren and many nieces and nephews. Paul is also survived by his 3 sisters, Ruth Deal, Mary (Gene) Kuhlwein, and Margaret Ann Banning, all of Arizona.
