Robert Frederick Folsom

He was a graduate of Jamestown High School Class of 2013, where he was Captain of the men’s Varsity Swimming Team and attended Purdue University, where he was studying IT and software development. He was also a proud member of the Gamma Lambda Chapter of Delta Tau Delta.

He is survived by his parents, Lee and David Folsom, and his sister, Elizabeth Folsom, all of Williamsburg; his aunt and uncle, Elizabeth and Peter Altenburger, and cousins, Katherine, Samuel and Jack Altenburger, of Indianapolis, Ind.; his aunt and uncle, Amy and Stephen Kett, and cousins, John and Andrew Kett, all of Great Falls, Va.; his grandmother, Anne Ricker, of Louisville, Ky.; and his great uncle, Eugene Costello, of San Francisco, Calif.

For many years, Robert served as a lifeguard at several area pools and enjoyed coaching and teaching younger children to swim. He will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him.

Visitation will be held at Nelsen Funeral Home, 3785 Strawberry Plains Rd., Williamsburg, on Monday, June 20 from 5:00 PM to 7:30 PM. A memorial service will take place at the Williamsburg Presbyterian Church, 215 Richmond Rd., Williamsburg, on Tuesday, June 21 at 10:00 AM.
