He was born January 15, 1971 in Greenville, SC to William and Anne Hawkins.
Steve had a lifelong thirst for knowledge and adventure. After high school, he went on to earn his BS from The Citadel in Charleston, SC; his MA from William & Mary in Williamsburg, VA; and his PA-C from the Medical University of South Carolina in Charleston, SC. He thrived in his career as a Physician’s Assistant. He worked at TPMG in Williamsburg until his retirement in 2020.
As a member of the Coastal Church of Williamsburg, Steve was very devoted to his faith. He read the Bible daily and would invite anyone who was at home to join and discuss.
He loved history, theology, and art. In his spare time, Steve loved reading, writing, camping, hiking, taking back roads, collecting coins, and arrowheads. He loved nature and spending time outdoors any way he could. He always had a great time having huge backyard bonfires and playing badminton with the family.
Nothing made Steve happier than spending time with his family. He loved to teach his kids about life and all the useful skills he knew that would help them in the future. His happiest times were with his family at the beach, taking long sunrise walks and collecting the best seashells.
Steve is survived by his beloved wife, Jennifer Hawkins; sons Davis (Anna), Miles, and Sawyer; daughter Hadley Blomdahl (Seth); his parents; siblings Jennifer (Mark) Boukather, Bill (Tina) Hawkins, and Rachel (Daniel) Straka; and his dog Izzy.
Services will be held on Saturday, April 26, 2025 at 10:30 AM at Grace Covenant Presbyterian Church, 1677 Jamestown Rd, Williamsburg, VA 23185.
