

Rear Admiral Thomas H. Replogle, USN Retired Thomas H. Replogle, 85, passed away on October 6, 2014. Tom was the son of Ned and Katherine Replogle of Bethel Park, Pennsylvania. He is survived by his wife of 35 years, Naomi Replogle, 5 daughters, 1 son, five step-children and 21 grandchildren. Daughters: Susan Mason, Terri Batten, Janet McNiff, Kimberly Stits and Carol Replogle. Son: Thomas H. Replogle, Jr. Step children: Douglas Brad Howard, Tiffany Jolly, Candice Kelly, Julie Price and Brandt Dixon. Tom was a loving husband, father and grandfather. He had a distinguished Naval career and received numerous service medals, including the Legion of Merit, Silver Star, Bronze Star, Distinguished Flying Cross, Air Medal with 13 Gold Stars, 2 Navy Commendation Medals, with Combat "V" , and China, Korean, Vietnam, United Nations Service Medals. In addition, to commanding VF-143, he was also assigned to VF-121, VF-151, and VF-161. He also flew for the Blue Angels. He was Captain of both the USS Nashville and USS America (Aircraft Carriers). While in the COMNAVAIRPAC Fighter training office he initiated the Navy's "Top Gun Program". He was the Inspector General CINCLANTFLEET and Chief of Staff of Seventh Fleet. Admiral Replogle also received the Humanitarian Service medal for coordinating the at sea Naval and Coast Guard operation to recover Cuban refugees and the mass processing facility in support of the Cuban Boatlift. Tom retired from the Navy having flown 74 different aircraft both civilian and military and amassed 9200 flight hours and 675 carrier landings, along with 396 combat missions. A service and reception will be held Sunday, October 12, 2014 at 2:00 PM at Ford's Colony Country Club, Williamsburg, VA.
