Virginia Eberly Hall passed away on Friday, November 8, 2013 in the comfort of her home and surrounded by her family after having achieved her most recent goal of reaching her 100th birthday.
Mrs. Hall, born August 10, 1913, to Howard and Eunice Eberly, was raised in Richmond, VA. A graduate of William and Mary, she became a registered nurse following her training at Stuart Circle Hospital in Richmond. She married Thomas R. Hall in 1939, having known him since they attended first grade together. They moved to the Tidewater area in 1948 where she enjoyed family, sewing, gardening, painting, golfing, and her church. Following Mr. Hall’s death in 2004, Mrs. Hall moved to Williamsburg where she continued to live independently, still working hard gardening, canning and cooking for others.
Mrs. Hall was preceded in death by her husband, Thomas R. Hall, Sr. and one grandson, Thomas R. Hall, III. She is survived by her two sons, Thomas R. Hall, Jr., wife Barbara of Tyner, NC, and Robert E. Hall, wife Esther of Suffolk, VA; two daughters, Eunice H. Ligon, husband John of Williamsburg, VA, and Frances H. Hollomon, husband Jim of York County, VA; 13 grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; 3 great-great-grandchildren.
A memorial service will be held on Saturday, November 16 at 11 AM, at the Walnut Hills Baptist Church, 1014 Jamestown Rd., Williamsburg, VA. In lieu of flowers, please make donations to your favorite church or charity.
