He was the oldest of 6 children born to Walter B., Jr. and Janie R. Willis on August 15, 1948. He was preceded in death by his parents and brother, David A. Willis.
Bart is survived by his wife Cheryl A. Willis; son, James Gregory Willis (Kristen). He is also survived by his brother, Carter L. Willis; sisters, Lynn W. Cole, Janie R. Willis, Christine P. Willis, and their families.
He retired after 30 years of service to the City of Newport News.
A visitation will be held on Sunday, June 22, from 2pm-5pm, at Nelsen Funeral Home, 3785 Strawberry Plains Rd., Williamsburg, 23188. Funeral services will be held on Monday, June 23, from 10 to 11 am, at Nelsen Funeral Home. A graveside service will be held at Forest Lawn Cemetery in Richmond at 2pm.
