He was preceded in death by his brother, Robert.
William served in the Air Force during the Korean War. Following his service, he was very proud of graduating from the National School of Meat Cutting and worked many years as a meat cutter. He was also a member of St. Olaf Catholic Church. In his spare time, he enjoyed painting, reading, old movies and traveling.
William is survived by his wife, Dorothy Abbott; his daughters, Rebecca Nolan and her husband, Scott, Sharon Dion and Shirley McCreary and her husband, Gary; his granddaughter, Megan Dion; his step-children, Mark Nevin and his wife, Judy, Kristina Powell and her husband, Alex and Kyle Nevin; and his sisters, Lounell Carroway and Dorothy Glover.
Interment will be held in Saratoga, NY National Cemetery at a later date.
