
Barry was born in Somerset, KY and was raised in London, KY. He graduated from London High School in 1965. After a year at the University of Kentucky, he enlisted in the Air Force and served in Vietnam in 1967. After discharging from the Air Force, he returned for a short stint at UK and then decided to further pursue his love for the fashion world. He started with Philips Van Heusen as a Salesman and later became the head of Merchandising in New York City with Manhattan Industries.
In 1990 he joined Swank Accessories as a Senior VP of Merchandising overseeing the factory in Norwalk, CT and Belt and Suspender product lines working with Designers such as Kenneth Cole, Tommy Hilfiger, and Alexander Julian. In 2002 he moved with his family to Williamsburg, VA and opened an Accessories Business importing and distributing leather goods. Barry spent his earlier years boating and after meeting his wife developed a love for golf. He enjoyed many years at Williamsburg National Golf Club where he spent countless hours playing, socializing and being the Captain of the Williamsburg Cup Team.
He is survived by his wife of 28 years, Jenna Heuser; his son, Jared Heuser (Giuliana); his brother, Ray Heuser (Tama); and a sister, Kathy Carr (Kermit).
There will be a Celebration of Life on January 17, 2026 from 6:30 PM to 8:30 PM at the Williamsburg National Golf Club, 3700 Centerville Rd, Williamsburg, VA 23188.
