

Barbara A. Bishop, 76, of Webberville, passed away Monday, June 27, 2016 in Ann Arbor. She was born in Detroit, MI on March 14, 1940 to John and Hilda (McGraw) Morton. Moving from the Detroit area she and her husband built a home in Fowlerville, Michigan where they raised two sons, grew beautiful gardens, housed the occasional livestock, and entertained countless friends and family members. Professionally, she has worked for the Michigan Hospital Association, was the administrative assistant to the founder of Lansing Community College, then subsequently as executive assistant to three school presidents before ultimately becoming the executive assistant for the Industrial Relations Coordinator of Shared Governance. Barbara was world traveler who loved to experience new places, people, cultures, and cuisine. As an avid reader she could be just as happy at home passing time with a book, baking, and fostering an atmosphere everyone loved to visit. She was preceded in death by her parents.
Barbara will be lovingly remembered by her husband of 52 years, Vaughn Bishop; her sons, Mark (Dianne) Bishop and Todd (Jennifer) Bishop; her grandchildren, Olivia, Victoria, Amelia, and Jack Bishop; and her sisters, Joan Fink, Nancy Lynne Moltz, Betty Gruntman, and Miriam Kidney.
Funeral Services will be held on Saturday, July 9, 2016 at 11am at Gorsline Runciman Funeral Homes, 205 E. Middle St., Williamston. Visitation will be held on Friday, July 8, 2016 from 4pm to 7pm at the funeral home, and one hour prior to the service on Saturday. Interment will follow in Greenwood Cemetery in Fowlerville, Michigan.
