Charles Frederick Featherly

Beloved husband, father, grandfather & great grandfather passed away February 28, 2026. Charles was born in Hamburg, Michigan April 11, 1934, to James & Helen Featherly. Charles married his lovely wife Fern on February 24, 1962, preceded him in death and he now joins her in Heaven. Charles is survived by his children: daughter, Odette (Larry) Young; son Fred ,(Sarita) Featherly, and daughter, Amy Peck (Scott Baecker); grandchildren, Ashley (Shannon) Whaley, Marcus (Marta) Featherly and Malorie Featherly, Zachrey (Athena) Peck & Maxwell Peck; great grandchildren, Camden, Mila & Easton Whaley and Olivia & Hudson Peck. Along with sister-in-law, Sandy Young and several nieces and nephews.

Charles was a man of strong faith and love of family. Through the years watching his grandchildren compete in sports, getting married and having children of their own was something he took great pride in. He loved it when they all gathered and he would just sit back and watch them all talk & laugh together. When Charles celebrated his 90th birthday, he was so moved when many of his nieces & nephews traveled to wish him a happy birthday, he talked about it often.

Charles was a graduate of Ann Arbor Pioneer High School & Michigan State University, majoring in engineering. Charles spent his career as a commercial general contractor and was very proud of his work in and around Mid-Michigan. Charles was always a giving man, whether it was years ago with Kiwanis, Boys & Girls Club of Lansing or Meals on Wheels to being known has the handy man for his condo friends. Charles was a true servant of God and St. Katherine’s Episcopal Church in Williamston, MI. From the late 60’s to the present, St. Katherine’s was always a source of community, faith & family for Charles.

Visitation will be held on Friday March 6th from 6:00 pm to 8:30 pm at St. Katherine’s Episcopal Church 4650 Meridian Rd. Williamston, MI. Memorial services will be held on Saturday March 7th at 10:00 am and a reception will be held in the parish hall immediately following the service.

In lieu of flowers, memorials for Charles can be made to St. Katherine’s Episcopal Church.
