Dean was one of the nicest guys I ever knew!   He had an amazing way to interact with people and got along with everyone!  I will never forget the days living with him at our house on Spartan ave!  I will also never forget his fish tanks with The giant bass he kept in them!   I will pray for  Doug and his family  and all of those who were impacted by Dean!  I wish I could attend one of his ceremonies as I am still in quarantine from Covid.  God bless Dean and his family!

What an honor to have known such a great person. He was my first friend in grad school.  He was always encouraging. Although I’ve never met his family, he always spoke of them; I felt I knew of them. He’ll be forever missed.

I met Dean at FAU while he was completing his PhD, and I was starting mine. He was always encouraging,  kind, fun and a wonderful friend to me and my family.  He embraced his love of science, research and helping others to the fullest.  I am very sorry to hear of his passing. May his memories be comforting to his family and friends. 

Dean was my first PhD student, and his success, graduation, and friendship are highlights of my career.  He was an excellent scientist and an even better person.  He had a kind heart, was always positive and excited to work and make a difference in the world, and really cared about the success of his peers and mentoring of younger students.  He went out of his way to help others, sometimes to my frustration for the completion of his degree, but always understanding his deep motivations to lift others up.  He was an asset to our department while working on his degree, and a friend to many of us.  His absence was missed as soon as he moved on to the next phase of his life, and his passing reminds us we miss him still.

My family has many wonderful memories of Dean. He was an amazing coach, mentor, and friend. He will be missed.

You were an angel sent from heaven Dean Joseph Michael Monette.    
My deepest sympathy to you all in the Monette family.  I will forever be grateful for the 39 years of friendship I shared with Dean.  He was truly one of a kind and I will greatly miss that intoxicating laugh of his and our long conversations about science and gardening.    He touched the hearts of everyone he met.

Brother Dean:

A great friend since I met you around 1987 or so.   We had a lot of great great times and experiences.   So many things bring up memories of you.  Certain Songs, places, etc...    You will be forever in my mind.





Don,  my heart is heavy for you!  I know how much you love your children, I also know Dean is with the King of Kings!  I pray for you and the whole family.    May God grant you peace and comfort during this difficult time.

I am so very sorry to hear of Dean's passing.  My heart goes out to the entire  Monette family. I knew Dean when he was just a young kid growing up in Williamston. I have so many wonderful memories playing softball with his sisters and being coached by their dad, Don.  Such a wonderful family.  Praying for all of you 🙏

What an outstanding, kind person Dean was; certainly one of WHS’s best! Thankful for the ways he used his many outstanding gifts. Sad for his short time on Earth, but awed by the legacy he leaves. Thinking of you, dear Barb.

As a school counselor, I knew Dean to be one of the highest character students I ever encountered.  I can never forget watching his wrestling matches where he totally dominated on the mat.  May God bless his soul.  Richard Brown


Though I don’t get to see the Monette siblings as much as I’d like too, I had the good fortune to see Dean at our Family Reunion,we had the best visit and it was like I had just seen him the day before! He will be sorely missed by me ! He was a very funny,caring  man whom I loved as if he were one of my own ! I will have many great memories! Love you Dean

DEAN and Barbara have been helping tie people in chevreau in different projects  namely: goat project, business development and management, water project and school development.
