

Doris Ruby Faustman, age 87, went to meet her soul mate, Bob, to catch the Tigers games for eternity on July 30, 2011. She died peacefully at Ingham Regional Medical Center after a short illness. She was born on December 15, 1923 to the late Cleo and Carl Bachman. Doris was the 4th of 12 children. Her brothers George, twins Donald and Rosmond all preceded her in death. Surviving are her sisters Elaine (Dewey) Musser, Eileen Nortman and brother Raymond (Barbara) Bachman.
She was a member of the Williamston High School Class of 1940. She married her soul mate on June 15, 1944 and began what would be 65 years together prior to Bob’s death in April 2009. It was at that time her spiritual heart died but her physical one kept on beating. She is survived by her children Ann (Don) Davy of Davison, MI, Pat (Mike) Langham of Williamston, MI, Sonis (Jim) Allen of Williamston, MI, and David (Jeanne) Faustman of Mason, MI, 11 grandchildren, 20 great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. Doris and Bob lived in Williamston for the entirety of their marriage and would winter in their home in Naples, FL. They also spent lots of thime at their cottage on Lake Victoria in Laingsburg as well.
Doris worked at Diamond Reo for a number of years, followed by work at Mahaney’s Cleaners and Michigan State University. Her life can be characterized by the supporting role she played as a wife, sister, mother, grandmother and great grandmother. She enjoyed ball games, taking brisk walks, socializing with friends, playing bridge, and visits with her family. She will be missed by her family but there is comfort that she has joined the love of her life and is surrounded by those wonderful and friends who have left before her. The family will receive family and friends at the Gorsline Runciman Funeral Home, 205 E. Middle Street, Williamston on Wednesday, August 3, 2011 from 6-8 p.m.
The funeral service will be held on Thursday, August 4, 2011 at 10:00 a.m. at the funeral home. Interment will take place at Summit Cemetery in Williamston, MI next to beloved sweetheart Bob.
