Dorothy Y. Mahoney

Yvonne passed away peacefully April 28, 2016 with the love and support of her children and grandchildren. Yvonne was a life long resident of Michigan, graduating from Williamston High School. In her younger years she helped out on the family farm she was raised on. She brought her hard working values and the deep love of God and family with her through her entire life.

She resided in the Lansing area with her husband. Together they formed a solid family foundation for 7 children, 10 grandchildren, 13 great-grandchildren and one great-great granddaughter. Her loving husband and closest friend, Del, preceded her in death. As did one son and one daughter. Their greatest pleasures were family gatherings. She and Del created lasting memories of BBQ’s by the backyard pool in the summer and holiday gatherings in the winter. Their door was always open to friends and family. Yvonne enjoyed cooking for her large family, tending to her rose garden and always helping others, either through her position at Sparrow Hospital or personally.

Yvonne was a genuine, loving person with an amazing sense of humor, who dedicated her life to her family and their needs. She was a devout wife and deeply loved her children and grandchildren. She was strong and courageous. She leaves her family with a void, but can rest in piece that all who knew her gained from her.

A memorial service will be held in her honor at a later date.
