

Eileen was preceded in death by her son, Danny Nortman, on October 31, 1971, and several brothers and sisters She is survived by her sons, Robert (Kathy) of Simpsonville, South Carolina, and Lonnie (Mellissa) of Annapolis, Maryland. Also surviving are grandchildren: Daniel Nortman, Rene Hart, Carrie McCormick, Colette Nortman, and Jolee Nortman;and great grandchildren: Caden McCormick and Adrianna McCormick. Her brother, Raymond (Barbara) Bachman, and twin sister, Elaine (Dewey) Musser, also survive Eileen, as do many nieces and nephews.
Eileen graduated from Williamston High School in 1943. In 1948 she joined the Navy as a Wave. While in the Navy she was a Cryptographer where she was responsible for decoding secret communications.
Eileen retired from Michigan State University where she worked 25 years in the athletic business office. She was a lifelong, avid Michigan State Sports fanatic and enjoyed going to all games Michigan State.
Her additional interests included membership in the American Legion and involvement in local Wave organizations. She was a volunteer softball coach for many years.
Eileen took pride in her large extended family, her grandchildren and being from Williamston. She had many friends and appreciated developing relationships, both personal and business.
A memorial service will be held at a later time.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Williamston Football Booster in support of the Larkin Nortman Memorial Field, C/O Williamston High School.
