Gregory was born on February 2, 1947 in Lansing, MI and passed away on January 17, 2015, at the age of 67. Gregory was the son of Answorth and Thelma (Simms) Hill. Gregory was an avid bowler and enjoyed music and playing his guitar. He loved to get in his car and just take a drive. He also was an avid Detroit Lions fan. Gregory served in the Navy during the Vietnam War. He was a disabled veteran and very patriotic. He loved his family and enjoyed his grandchildren and great grandchildren immensely.
Gregory married Janet E. Alchin on April 17, 1965. They would have celebrated their 50th anniversary this coming April.
Gregory is survived by three daughters, Dianna (Noel) Hack of LaGrange, OH, Stephanie Hicks of Haslett, and Sarah Hill of Perry and son, Gregory Ellington Hill Jr. of Perry; grandchildren, Gregory Ellington III, Joshua Hack, Ashli (Tyler) Williams, Colby Hack, Faith Hill, Aiden Huntley, Hannah Hicks; great grandchildren, Seth Hill, Leah Hill, Luke Hill, and Anah Williams. He is also survived by his two sisters, Claudia (Milton) Campbell of Minnesota and Deborah (Dan) Agusto of Montana.
Gregory was preceded in death by his parents Answorth and Thelma.
A Memorial Service will be held Monday February 2nd, 2015 at 5pm at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, 431 E. Saginaw St., East Lansing, MI 48823. Memorial contribution may be made to Disabled American Veterans, Capital City Chapter Eight, P.O. Box 24151, Lansing, MI 48909.
