On January 26, 1962, Jane married Robert M. Pease, and together they shared 54 years of marriage. Throughout their life together, they devoted many years to serving the Williamston Food Bank and were faithful members of Crossroads United Methodist Church in Williamston, MI.
Jane graduated from Lansing Eastern High School and soon began working at Melling Forge in Lansing. After marrying Robert and moving to Williamston, she joined the Williamston Enterprise Newspaper, where she dedicated many years of service and eventually retired as Circulation Manager in 1986.
Jane had many hobbies throughout her life. In the late 1950s and early 1960s, she proudly played as a catcher for a women’s fastpitch softball league in Lansing. After her softball days, she found joy in gardening, canning, fishing, and crocheting. Her love for animals was evident in the way she cared for every pet and creature she encountered.
Jane was deeply loved by all. Strong-willed and firm when needed, yet always guided by her big, loving heart. Her strength and kindness touched everyone around her.
Jane is survived by her children, Edward (Carol) George, Gregory (Lisa) Pease, and James (Helen) Pease; grandchildren, Margaret (Scott) Weeks, Ryan Finn, Katharine (Brian) Lounsberry, JR Pease, Adam (Katie) Pease, Amelia (Ian) Smith, and Gunner Pease; and numerous great-grandchildren.
Jane is preceded in death by her husband, Robert Pease; son, John Pease; grandson, Anthony Finn; brother, Fred Tabor; and twin sister, Jean (Tabor) Roath.
Memorial Services will be held on Thursday, January 22, 2026, at 11am at Gorsline Runciman Funeral Home in Williamston, MI. The family will be receiving friends one hour prior to the service. Following services, Jane will be laid to rest, with her husband, at Summit Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, contributions are encouraged at the Williamston Food Bank, P.O. Box 65, Williamston, MI 48895.
Jane’s family would like to extend their heartfelt thank-you to Divine Nest of Williamston, Sparrow Hospital, and Hospice House of Mid-Michigan.
