John Joseph Frawley passed away in the loving embrace of family, June 12, 2023. Born to Josephine Elizabeth and Roy Paul Frawley on February 26, 1950, he was part of a close-knit family of seven children.
John loved life. Summers were magical on his grandfather’s farm, milking cows, baling hay, riding horses, and getting into scrapes with his cousins. He was proud to say he was on the payroll by the first grade.
An athlete, John played basketball while attending Brother Rice High School and rugby at MSU. He loved hunting, golfing, and cliff-diving in Jamaica. A cowboy at heart, his favorite authors included the likes of Zane Grey and Louis L’Amour. And no one could pull a prank or tell a tale like John.
At MSU and as President of Delta Chi Fraternity, he formed a lifelong band of brothers. He graduated in the first class of Cooley Law School, and for forty-five years he was the highly regarded champion of “Anyone walking through my door, looking scared and asking for help.” A Warrior Lawyer indeed.
His favorite place on earth was the Williamston family farm, tending the property, hunting, and working out in his tack room. He was the devoted husband of Celeste who adored him, and the beloved father of Rachel, John Jr, and Jesse.
He was a treasure to his extended family and an irreplaceable companion of the heart to his legion of friends.
John is preceded in death by his parents Josephine and Roy, his brother Gerald and brothers-in-law Tom Rosenbergh and Dave Begley.
He is survived by his wife and children, brothers Michael (Joan), Roy Jr (Deborah), sisters Jodie McCann (James), Trish Rosenbergh, Jane Begley, and sister-in-law Nancy Frawley.
A celebration of John’s love of life will be held at a future date.
Sweet dreams, we love you with all our hearts.
