From his earlier days Bob was an avid racer of motorcycles and would attend as many competitive races as he could. Bob enjoyed the people, the atmosphere and the adventure of the race. At these races he put every ounce of experience, knowledge and talent that he had and brought home countless trophies and plaques. He always put every effort into being the fastest on the track.
Bob married his love, Gwenda Lynne (Piper) Chick, on August 4, 1972. After that, they welcomed two children Matthew in 1974 and Christina in 1976. Then in 2001, he became a grandfather for the first time to a granddaughter, Anna Lynne, and then became a grandfather again in 2005 to twin grandsons, Evan Matthew and Joseph Matthew.
Throughout his years he was always tinkering with different motorcycles trying to make them the best that he could. Bob also loved spending time with his family and especially his three grandchildren. This would include helping all of them with their motorcycles, garden tractors, or anything that needed to be built. He would also give them rides on the countless motorcycles and tractors that he had.
Bob is survived by his Children; Matthew R. Chick and Christina Ann (Jeffrey) Herbert; Grandchildren Anna Lynne, Evan Matthew, and Joseph Matthew Herbert.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Melborn and Vivian Chick; and his wife Gwenda Lynne Chick.
The funeral service will be held at 12:00 pm on Tuesday, July 11, 2023 at Gorsline Runciman Funeral Homes Williamston Chapel, 205 E. Middle Street, with visitation from 11:00 am until the time of service. Interment will follow at Rowley Cemetery.
