Born October 15, 1939, in Howell; died April 23, 2011, at the age of 71. Bob was raised in the Dansville area and graduated from Dansville High School in 1958. He retired from Martin Block Corporation after 37 years of service and was an active member of Memorial Lutheran Church, Williamston, where he served on the church council for many years. Bob was a 4-H leader for several years, enjoyed hunting and fishing, and loved spending time with his family and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, Esther and Vance Mead, and a brother, Kenneth. Surviving are Janet, his loving wife of 50 years; children, Sheryl (Stan) Arntson, Karen (Bryan) Grinnell and David (Tami) Mead; 5 granddaughters; 6 step grandchildren; sister, Janice (Chris) Maynard; brother, Maurice (Judy) Mead; many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. Funeral services will be held Thursday, April 28, at noon at Memorial Lutheran Church, 1022 W. Grand River Ave., Williamston, with Pastor David Voss officiating. The family will receive friends at the Gorsline-Runciman Funeral Homes, 205 E. Middle St., Williamston, on Wednesday from 1-3 and 6-8 p.m. and at the church on Thursday 1-hour prior to the service.
