Terry Lynn Shaffer

Terry Lynn Shaffer, a beloved husband, father, stepfather, grandfather, brother, and friend, passed away peacefully on November 19, 2025, at the age of 64. Born on April 3, 1961, in Howell, Michigan, Terry was the cherished son of Raymond and Joanne Shaffer, who preceded him in death, alongside his sister Vicki and brother Rodney.

Terry's early years were spent in Howell, where he graduated from Howell High School. After completing his education, he honorably served in the United States Air Force, working on airplanes while stationed in Turkey. This experience not only instilled in him a strong sense of duty but also ignited a lifelong love for mechanics and all things automotive.

In 2008, Terry married Laura Potter in Williamston, Michigan. Terry was not just Laura's husband, he was also her best friend.

Terry was the father of two children, Raymond Glenn Shaffer and Kerry Ann Shaffer, and a loving stepfather to Clarissa Potter and Misty Potter.

Professionally, Terry worked at Shaheen Chevrolet for 20 years at the parts counter and later at Pratt and Whitney for 16 years, specializing in jet engine parts.

Terry was known for his friendly demeanor and easygoing nature, making friends effortlessly and always ready to lend a helping hand. His love for animals and his kind-hearted spirit endeared him to all who knew him. He had a unique ability to brighten any room with his smile, and his generosity extended beyond family to the community.

Terry Lynn Shaffer leaves behind a legacy of love. He is survived by his loving wife, Laura; his son, Raymond Glenn Shaffer (Claire); his daughter, Kerry Ann Shaffer; his stepdaughters, Clarissa Potter and Misty Potter; his brother, Roger Shaffer (Ann Marie); his six grandchildren; and three nieces. His memory will forever remain in the hearts of those he touched with his kindness, humor, and generous spirit.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made in Terry's honor to the Dementia Society of America or the Parkinson's Foundation.
