December 24, 1928 to June 26, 2011

Tom, age 82, died June 26, 2011 with his family by his side. He was born and raised in Newberry Michigan. Tom served in the United States Army prior to joining the Michigan State Police, retiring after 30 years of public service. His beloved wife of 53 years, Rita, preceded him in death. He is survived by his children Kathryn Reiter, Mary Ann Minard and Nora and Perry Sellers, six grandchildren and his dearly loved dog, Lucy.

A resident of Williamston for more than 40 years, he was an avid outdoorsman who loved to camp, garden and read. The family would like to thank the staff at Timber Ridge of East Lansing for their compassionate care. A memorial service will be held Thursday, June 30, at 2:30 p.m. at Gorsline Runciman Funeral Homes, Williamston Chapel, with Rev. Peter J. Clark officiating, and Honor Guard provided by Michigan State Police. The family will receive friends an hour prior to the service and a reception will follow. In lieu of flowers, the family requests contributions be made to the Williamston Community Library Foundation, P.O. Box 357, Williamston, MI 48895.
