David Earl Whitfield

David Earl "Buddy Roe" Whitfield, 65, died Wednesday July 13,2011 at Martin General Hospital. The graveside service will be held Sunday at 2:00 PM at Woodlawn Cemetery. With Rev Doug Stokes officiating.

David was born January 2,1946 in Norfolk Virginia, son of the late John Edward Whitfield and Lessie Mae Jones Cayton. He retired in 2003 from Weyerhaeuser Company where he worked in the shipping department for many years.He was a member of Gold Point Christian Church. On May 22, 1992 he married Paula Heymore Whitfield.

Survivors in addition to his wife are Daughter Angie Whitfield Casp€r of Winterville and Son David Earl Whitfield Jr of Oak City, sisters Faye Whitley, Lane Whitley Jones and Phyllis King all of Williamston, grandchildren Sarah Ashton Casper and Zachery Thomas Casper both of Winterville and Katlyn Brook Whitfield of Oak City.

The family will receive friends Saturday from 7-8:30 PM at Biggs Funeral Home in Williamston, NC and other times at the residence.
