John "Jack" Henry Edwards Jr.

John Henry “Jack” Edwards Jr passed away Friday, October 21, 2011 at home...Jack was the son of the late John Henry Edwards and Helen Adkins Edwards. He was born on June 8, 1933 in Williamston where he resided for all his life. He was a graduate of Williamston High School and East Carolina University. He was an avid Pirate Club member. He was a retired fireman, served as a member of the Branch Bank Board and was a member of the Memorial Baptist Church choir for many years. He joined his father in running and owning Roanoke Chevrolet Company from 1957 until July 2006.

He is survived by his wife of 54 years Nancy Allsbrook, their children Gail E Hansen and husband John of Hayward WI, Hank Edwards and wife Amy of Williamston and Ginger E Barnhill and husband Ralph of Scotland Neck, six grandchildren Karson Brooke Edwards, Ian Garrett Hansen, Kellen Virginia Edwards, Kathryn Virginia Barnhill, Corrie Elizabeth Hansen and Konnor Lyn Edwards.

The funeral service will be held Sunday at 2:00 PM at Memorial Baptist Church with Rev Robbie Parker officiating; burial will follow at Woodlawn Cemetery.

The family will receive friends Saturday from 6-8:00 PM at Biggs Funeral Home and other times at the residence 200 Woodlawn Drive.

In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the Memorial Baptist Church and the Williamston Fire & Rescue.
