
Louie Coltrain Peele, 93, died Saturday February 28, 2015. The funeral service will be held Wednesday at 11:00 AM at Biggs Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Robbie Parker and Rev. Dean Harrell officiating; burial will follow at Woodlawn Cemetery.
Mrs Peele was born in Edgecombe County on June 26, 1921 daughter of the late George W. and Vivian Godard Coltrain. She was retired from the Proctor Shop where she worked for many years as a bookkeeper. She was a member of Memorial Baptist Church.
On August 22, 1942 she married Joseph A Peele who preceded her in death on July 3, 2004. Brothers Javan Coltrain, Gus Coltrain and Randolph Murphy Coltrain and a beloved sister Dulah Pate also preceded her in death.
Survivors are a daughter Patricia P Lilley and husband Tony of Monroe, grandchildren Jonathan Lilley, Sherri McGirt and husband Kris, and Tara Jo Helms and husband Jon, sister Elsie Richardson of PA, great grandchildren Morgan, and Priscilla Lilley, Wyatt, Jesse, and Lillie Kate McGirt, Landon, Peyton and Gavin Helms, loving and devoted nieces Vivian Smith and husband Hugh, Mary Lynn Jethro and husband Phillip, and Judy Revels and husband Billy, three special nieces from Pennsylvania; Shirley Szczypla, Judy Mainhart and Diane Mease.
The family will receive friends Tuesday from 6:30-8:00pm at Biggs Funeral Home and other times at the residence 305 E Simmons Ave.
