Whiley Benjamin Bunting

Wiley Benjamin Bunting, 89, died Saturday, May 9, 2015 at Tarboro Vidant Hospital. The funeral service will be held Tuesday at 10:30 AM at Oak City Christian Church; burial will follow at Oak City Cemetery.

Mr Bunting was born in Martin County in the town of Oak City on April 26, 1926 son of the late Joseph and Nellie Craft Bunting. He was a merchant and a farmer and a veteran of the United States Navy serving in World War II. Also he was a member of the Oak City Christian Church.

In November of 1944 he married Addie Clyde Modlin who preceded him in death on April 20, 2013.

He is survived by his sons Benny Bunting of Oak City and Paul Bunting of Davidson, sisters Nell Brown and Sue Latham both of Oak City, grandsons Michael Bunting, Joe Paul Bunting, and Jason Bunting, granddaughter Wendy Corey, great grandchildren Staci Smith, Camron Jones, Alex Corey, Katey Bunting, Grayson Bunting, Joseph Bunting, and Anna Bunting, great great grandchildren Shawn Michael Debasso, Owen Jones, and Cori Smith.

The family will receive friends from 7-8:30 PM Monday at Oak City Christian Church and other times at the residence 432 Hassell Road, Oak City NC.
