I didn't know you well but I have some memories of coming over and playing as a kid. You were the one who gave me my first hair cut. I miss you Uncle Chuck you may have passed but your music lives on.

I remember spending time with my dad at the barber shop and at your home. When my Dad died unexpectedly we were at your house that day and I will never forget the love and comfort you both showed us. I have know Chuck I believe since I was 12. I remember when he played for parties through my parents Catering Jay's Catering. I  always went to hear him sing at the Italian Festival. I talked to him a few times,  when my dad was sick, I wanted to take him to the Italian Festival, I called Chuck and he said they were not playing that year. He said I will come and play for your dad as it was my dad's birthday. He surprised my parents and played for hours, I have it on video. He gave my dad a tape of his music and I was told during my dads final days all he wanted was to listen to Chuck's music.  Chuck playing for my dad was the best thing he could have given my dad in his final months. I will forever love and respect this man. My heart is breaking at his passing. He was one of the greatest and the voice no one can copy. My prayers and thoughts go out to his family. Please know God took one of the finest. He will truly be missed by so many. Cordone Family,  I am very sorry for the loss of Chuck.  My father sang with him for many years and said he was the best guitar player he ever worked with.  I had my hair cut by Chuck for 25 plus years and looked forward to talking with him and all the colorful characters that frequented his shop.  He was a very talented man and did a lot for the West Side.  May he rest in peace.

To all the Cardone family I am so sorry for your loss.  Chuckie was always a kind and generous man.  We lived on Pennsylvia Street when I was young and it was just down the street from his barber shop.    After many years had passed I reached out to him to play at my parents 50th wedding anniversary.  He was said he would be honored.  The honor was all ours!  It is a fond memory to keep in our hearts.

I knew Chuck through my professional life but by talking to him I learned that we had a lot in common, especially our love for guitars. I was interested in his playing career as he was doing what I would have liked to do if I wasn't such a hack player and he was interested in my hobby of building and repairing guitars,violins and violas. We spent maybe too much time talking about these things at our meetings and it led him to sell me his beautiful vintage Gibson ES-175 guitar,probably for less than he could have gotten from a collector,because he knew I would cherish that instrument just as he did. I will never sell this guitar and I do cherish it, just as I will always cherish my friendship with Chuck. My heartfelt condolensces to his family. You and he are in my prayers.
