Sharon, Bryan, the whole family, and my friend Kathy especially, So sorry to learn of this sad news.  I always enjoyed any opportunity to chat with and learn from Gene.  My heartfelt condolences.

My memories of Gene Tenney are many and varied. I was a “newly minted” legal secretary fresh out of high school when I first met him, when I was hired at the Saperston firm downtown.  Over the ensuing years we worked together, argued together and laughed together.  We had the extraordinary good luck to have had a terrific work family along the way.  Our office today is unique in that all of us have worked together, successfully, for more years than one would think possible.  He made that possible just by being who he was.  I feel privileged to have been part of his life, his family and his legal career.  Lee, Sharon, Bryan, Kathy will miss him and so will I.  

Mr. Tenney helped me through one of the most difficult times in my life. He was with me every step of the way and fought hard for me. He was never too busy to speak with me and answer whatever questions I had. My sincere condolences to his family. 

I am very saddened to hear of Mr Tenney’s passing.... he was a wonderful and caring man and we were very fortunate to have met him under difficult circumstances, as he represented our Dad 30 years ago.... Our father really thought highly of Mr Tenney, as we did.... please accept our sincere condolences....and our apologies for not being able to come and pay our respects... we were sad to just find out this morning. God Bless you all.

So Sorry to hear of Gene passing. My father Richard and I have known Gene a long time. That are not enough words to describe what a great human being Gene was. Always kind words . He truly was old school with a zest for life

  I had only met Gene a few years ago, whilst doing business in Buffalo from Toronto;  he was always a pleasure to be with.  Every meeting we had, in which we had many at 69 Delaware;  was five minutes business, then the remainder of the time talking about family, current events and his own history which mirrored my own late fathers during the depression in Toronto.  He felt warmly paternal and caring,  and had a zest and bravado for work till the end, he is what we could only call proudly "Old school".  He will be truly missed .

Sincere condolences in the loss of your dear father. I had the distinct pleasure of getting to know him back when Kathy and I were grade-school classmates at St. Benedict's. Both he and Mrs. Tenney were very kind when 8 to 10 girls would descend upon the house on Four Seasons for swim parties and sleepovers. Those were good times, and Mr. Tenney always had a joke and a smile. He had a magnetic personality and, truth be told, I thought he was so handsome!!

Your smile, your tenacity, good humor will be sorely missed. Sleep well...God needed an honest attorney! My deepest sympathy, Lee. Always near if you need a hug. 

Gene Tenney was a giant among men.  I met Mr. Tenney on the first day of my 40 year friendship with Kathleen.....our first day at Duke.  Our friendship has been marked by visits to Buffalo, where I saw him in action, to endless stories of the man he was.  He set the standard for a high moral ground and strong work ethic that has become the fabric of the family name.  Words can't express the depth of my sorrow.  And as my extended family got to know him through my stories, their prayers and love, along with mine, extend to all.
