Beloved husband of 63 years to Elizabeth "Betty" (nee Waite) Aprile; devoted father of Leslie Aprile, J. Andrew (Karin) Aprile, Douglas (Melissa) Aprile and Alison (Marc) Silsby; cherished grandfather of Jordan, Lisa, Julie (George), Arianna, Sommer, Victoria, Liam, Aaron, Samantha, Natalie and Colton; adored great-grandfather of Camilla and Autumn; loving son of the late Francis and Margaret (nee Wolfschlagel) Aprile; dear brother of Gloria (late Jim) and the late Francis (Mary Lou) Aprile; also survived by loving nieces, nephews and many dear friends.
Jim was a veteran of the US Army and served during the Korean War. Jim was a teacher and guidance counselor for the Buffalo Schools for 35 years. He was a member of the Eggertsville Fire Department and Amvets. He will be remembered for his great sense of humor.
Relatives and friends may visit St. Paul's Lutheran Church, 4007 Main St., Amherst, NY 14226 on Sunday (June 7, 2026) from 12-1PM. A Funeral Service will immediately follow at 1PM.
A private interment will be held at Forest Lawn Cemetery for immediate family.
