Dear Keith and family,
Our hearts are saddened to hear of the passing of your mother - our dear teacher and friend.  She gave so much of herself and was a true disciple of Jesus Christ.  Her teachings of how to be a  beloved child of our Lord will live on in all those blessed to receive it.  May she  Rest In Peace.   In deep sympathy,

We have known, and cherished, Joan for some 30+ years and have always found her to be a very sweet, understanding, and capable pastor and friend.
We share in the sadness of her passing that all who knew her are surely feeling.   But, we rejoice in the eternal life she now shares with her Lord, and with those who have gone before!

I am so grateful for Pastor Joan's ministries & leadership at Elma United Methodist. She taught me a great deal about the Bible & Methodism, & she was a strong supporter of caring for God's Earth, the only home we will ever know (this side of Heaven). We have lost such a dear friend.

I grew to know her well while serving on Emmaus teams with her, and her warm smile, loving way, and calming, steady presence was always an asset. I consider myself fortunate to have known her and will miss her greatly...

It is appropriate to light a candle in Joan's memory because Joan was a light.   During our time together in seminary and at Elma United Methodist Church, Joan was a constant presence of faith for all.   I am truly thankful for our journey together.   My heartfelt sympathy to her family.

Words of sympathy feel inadequate in expressing grief and sorrow for a loss so great. Your Mom and I have shared so much through the years. We first met when we each taught adult education at Iroquois in the 70s, continued our friendship for years at Pioneer, and celebrated she being anointed into the ministry years later. Thank you for allowing me to drive her to Roswell so that we could reminisce the past 50 years of friendship. I’m here, Ken too, to share the weight of your loss. Your Mom brought a smile to every occasion.

I've known Joan for many years.  I was on her "team" when she went through the Board of Ordained Ministry process. I worked with her on the Catch the Spirit events, and we traveled to Rome and Greece with her. So sorry to hear of her passing.  May God comfort you during this difficult time.

Joan was a wonderful friend and she meant so much to me. I will miss her so much.  My condolences go to her family and my thoughts are with them. I wish I could be there for them and wish I could go to the service for Joan, but I am out of town and will not be home until April 12th.  Please know that my thoughts are with you all. Pastor Joan was a wonderful human being and a devoted follower of Jesus. Her light will live on in the lives of the many people she touched throughout her years of pastoral ministry. In the words of scripture, she "let her gentleness be known to everyone. " It was a privilege to know and work alongside Joan. She will be deeply missed by friends and colleagues.
