Chuck Whitchurch, 95, of Wilmette, died peacefully at home with his family on January 7, 2021. He was born on November 16, 1925 in Evanston, Illinois, the only son of Anna Dean and Irl G. Whitchurch.
Chuck enlisted in the army in WW II at the age of 18, volunteered for jump school and fought with the 502nd parachute infantry regiment of the 101st Airborne Division at Bastogne during the Battle of the Bulge, serving through the duration and first year of occupation.
He was a 1952 graduate of Northwestern University with a major in English literature. Chuck was married to the late Jane Christensen Mickelberry (d. 1999) in 1954. The couple resided in Evanston and Wilmette.
Chuck was curious and enterprising throughout his varied career and ultimately built his own association management company, Whitchurch Management Corporation, where he was the CEO until his retirement in 2002.
Chuck was known for his warm, outgoing and generous personality. He had a great sense of humor and was totally in love with his family, which included seven golden retrievers over the years. He is survived by his son Randy and daughter-in-law Jane of Winnetka and his granddaughter Kay, and grandson-in-law Norberto Guerra of Chicago.
