David Fretzin beloved husband of the late Wende nee Feitler. Loving father of Scott (Robbie), Michael and Sara (Bill). Cherished grandfather of Audrey (Ari), Hannah (Ethan), Sophie, Eli, Esther, Sydney, Asher, Simon, Whitney and Liam. Adored Identical twin Brother of Lawrence (Sharon), Leslie, and Liane. Fond and loving uncle to many nieces and nephews. In lieu of flowers please donate to the Chicago Dermatological Society or the Prostate Cancer Foundation. David grew up in a Chicago Public Housing Project. He graduated from the University of Illinois and then Iowa Medical School. He took great pride in his time as a flight surgeon in the Air Force where he was stationed in Japan. He then trained as a dermatologist and dermatopathologist and dedicated his life to helping patients with skin disease. He was a past president of the Chicago Dermatological Society, Professor at the University of Illinois and of the University of Chicago. He published over 70 academic articles and 4 book chapters. However his real story and passion was his love for his children and grandchildren.
