Dillon James Estes Jensen

Born and raised in Minnesota, Dillon was a brilliant, kind-hearted individual who poured his passion into everything he did. As Director of Product Development for LG&P, he brought creativity and innovation to in-store retail displays for some of the world’s most recognized brands and retailers. His career took him across the globe—from China to Europe and throughout the U.S.—and led him to live in California, Minnesota, and most recently Lexington, Kentucky.

Dillon was diagnosed with late-stage cancer in January 2025, an unexpected and devastating diagnosis. With the support of his sister, he relocated to Wilmette, Illinois to be near family and to receive care at the University of Chicago. Despite his strength and determination, his cancer proved resistant to treatment.

A true audiophile with an obsession for headphones, Dillon found joy in the subtle nuances of sound. He loved video games, connecting with friends, and spending time with his family—especially his young cousins, nieces, and nephews who brought light into his life. He was known for his deep intellect, sense of humor, and a spirit that touched those lucky enough to know him.

Dillon is survived by his father Gregory J. Jensen and stepmother Lizel S. Jensen; his brother James R. Jensen, both of Minneapolis, MN; his sister Calli Tripp, her husband David, and their children Piper, Reese, and Crosby of Shorewood, IL. He is also survived by his aunt Elizabeth "Libby" O'Donoghue, her husband Patrick, and cousins Theodore "Teddy" and August "Auggie" of Wilmette, IL; and his aunt Laurel Shuman, her husband Mitch, and cousins Norah, Genevieve "Evie", and Lucas of Lafayette, Colorado.

He was preceded in death by his beloved mother, Carrie Estes Rucker; maternal grandparents, Carolyn and William Rucker; and paternal grandparents, Mildred "Millie" Jensen and Carol Havalson.

In a final act of generosity, Dillon chose to donate his body to scientific research through the Anatomical Gift Association. Once returned to the family, his ashes will be interred in Logansport, Indiana, alongside his mother and maternal grandparents.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the UChicago Medicine Comprehensive Cancer Center or the Anatomical Gift Association of Illinois in Dillon’s honor.

Dillon left us far too soon, and there’s no church or funeral home that could ever capture the spirit he brought to this world. So instead, let’s gather in a way he would’ve appreciated — surrounded by good food, shared stories, and the people who loved him most.
