

James Patrick Nicholson, "Pat" born in Evanston, IL on March 17 Saint Patrick's Day 1930, the middle son of Leo P. Nicholson and Helen (Young) Nicholson (4th son of seven boys). Pat was the beloved husband of Marlene (nee Hussar); loving and devoted father to James Patrick Jr., and Brian Leo; dear brother of Tom (the late Phyllis), Daniel (Nancy) and Vincent, as well as deceased brothers Leo (Mary), Robert (the late Patricia), Paul "P.J" (the late Marian), and brother-in-law to Marilyn and Robert Crowley; and to many nieces and nephews. Pat graduated from St. Francis Xavier grade school in Wilmette, IL. Many of his friends today are from those days. Pat graduated from St. George High School, Evanston, IL and the University of Illinois, Urbana, IL. He was a proud member of the Marine Corp and served during the Korean War. He was awarded the United States Marine Corp soldiers sharpshooter badge which is the highest rifleman medal in the Marine Corp. He was a member of the infamous Marine Corp VMA 121 Squadron, that was responsible for the close air support of The 1st Marine Division, the U.S. Army, Allied Forces. Pat was a member of the American Legion, Wilmette, IL and the Marine Corp Heritage Foundation. Pat was Vice President of Sales for Dor-o-Matic - Division of Republic Industries. Pat was a long time summer resident of Fontana, WI, and was a member of St. Benedict Church. He cherished his summers at Lake Geneva with his family and friends. He spent his winters in Naples, FL, and was a member of St. Peters Church. He will be remembered by his wide smile, big heart and love of others. Visitation will be at Wm. H. Scott Funeral Home, 1100 Greenleaf Ave., Wilmette, IL Sunday, July 31 from 4 to 9 p.m. Funeral Mass at St. Francis Xavier Church, 9th St. and Linden Ave., Wilmette, IL, Monday, August 1 at 11 a.m. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Friends Of Autism, P.O.
