

James Patrick Perkins, 70, of Evanston, formerly of Winnetka, passed away on October 26, 2010 after a courageous battle with cancer. Beloved companion and best friend of Mary Anne Miller; loving father of Brian (Christine) , Kevin (Emily) and Quinn (Ryan) Nelson; former husband of Sarah Simkins Cole; adored ‘Gramps’ of Isabel, Tucker and John “Jack” Perkins; devoted son of the late John “Jack” and Grace, nee Quinlan; dear brother of Virginia (John) Lowecki, Maureen (the late Robert) Sansone and the late Patricia Washington and John “Jack” (the late Virginia); and fun-loving uncle of many nieces and nephews. Jim was raised in Oak Park and served in the Army as a sergeant. He was a founding partner and CEO of Laven, Fuller & Perkins Advertising/Marketing Inc. in Chicago, New York City and Orlando. Jim loved his family and lived life to the fullest. Visitation Friday, 3 – 9 p.m. at Wm. H. Scott Funeral Home, 1100 Greenleaf Ave., Wilmette. Funeral Mass Saturday, Oct. 30th, 10 a.m. at St. Nicholas Church, 809 Ridge, Evanston. Interment All Saints Cemetery.
