Janet Greenfield Much passed away peacefully at her home in Rancho Mirage, CA, on January 4 just days after her 86th birthday. Born in Chicago and raised in Winnetka, she was a glamorous presence wherever she went and was a pioneer in wearing dark nail polish. The daughter of the late Robert and Ruth Greenfield, she graduated from New Trier High School and graduated Magna Cum Laude from the University of Illinois where she met her husband, Morrie Much. Married at age 20 in 1959, they raised their three children in Wilmette, IL. Over the years she worked as a travel agent, was an avid golfer and bridge player. Janet always told it like it is and could be counted on for a witty remark. She cared deeply for Israel, and in addition to living there for a summer, she was involved with numerous charities such as Israel Bonds. She will be missed terribly and is survived by husband Morrie Much; children Elizabeth (Steve Muller) Much, Katherine (Todd) Lipschutz, Lawrence (Marci) Much; grandchildren Audrey Lipschutz, Marissa Lipschutz, Jared Much, Devyn Much; and her sister Lois (Steve) Eisen, as well as nephews, nieces, and friends. Funeral service Thursday, January 9, 1PM at Weinstein & Piser Funeral Home, 111 Skokie Blvd, Wilmette, IL 60091. Service will be livestreamed. Interment Memorial Park Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Alzheimer's Association (alz.org) or the Jewish United Fund (juf.org). For info: 847-256-5700
