Prayers are with your family at the passing of Mrs. Elman. Hundreds of us remember her with the greatest fondness. As the director of food services at Weiss Hospital she ensured that everyone ate well, with the most delicious offerings for both patients and staff. She was a blessing to us all. 

I had the privilege of knowing and working with Mrs. Elman (I worked in HR) @ Weiss Hospital.   I posted this tribute on Social Media.   My sincere sympathies.   Weiss Hospital friends/family:  Mrs. Elman has passed away at age 103. She was my FAVORITE department director.  She ran an”elegant”Food Service department which was at par with a high class catering service.  Her work ethic: “mealtimes are the highlight of a patient’s day”. There was no “hospital food” at Weiss:  lobster, rib-eye, Finnan Haddie- were common in our most uncommon cafeteria.  Two soups EVERY day (chicken Soup every day) except Wednesday (Matszo ball soup EVERY  Wednesday  and the *only * soup of the day Oy vay!).  Classy. Dignified. Down to earth.  She truly cared for all her employees in the kitchen, on the “line”, the Garden Terrace Cafe.  Part of the original staff, hand picked by “Mr. Z”. Her sister was DON.  We ran a world class hospital.  It was a pleasure to know and work with you,Mrs. Elman. I’m grateful that I found your # a few years back and thoroughly enjoyed catching up and reminiscing.  Until we meet again.  I’ll throw a ribeye on the grill for you when we do. RIP.
