In loving memory of Leon Nathan Moses of Wilmette, IL, who died October 12, 2013. Born in 1924 in New York, NY, Leon earned a BA from Ohio State University in 1945 and a PhD in Economics from Harvard University in 1953, at which time he joined the faculty as a Professor of Economics of Harvard University. In 1959 he joined the faculty at Northwestern University as Professor of Economics and Assistant Director of the Transportation Center. During his 46 year career at Northwestern, he served as Professor in the College of Arts and Sciences and Kellogg School of Business, Director of the Transportation Center and Chair of the Economics Department. Leon was a teacher and mentor to many economists and other students at Northwestern and the recipient of many awards. He retired in 2005. He is predeceased by his wife, Rae Arlene Moses and is survived by his children, Megan McBride, Jonathan, Richard and Jared Moses, their spouses, 12 grandchildren, 3 great-grandchilden, and his brother, Michael Moses.
