

Ludmilla Coven, née Ross, 91. Beloved wife of the late Harry; devoted mother of Maia Beth (Bruce) Reim, Jonathan (Ellen Steinberg) Coven, Jessie (Charles) Herman, and Rafael Daniel (Eva Bazant) Coven; treasured grandmother of Aviva and Jordana Reim, Liora, Hannah, and Ranon Herman, Claire and Hope Coven, and Giuliana Coven; loving sister of Chaia Ross and the late Sherwood Ross; caring aunt of Sean, Karl, Elizabeth, and Andrei Ross, Emily Ross-Booker, Geneva Nolan, Steve Seltzer, Fern Goodman, Robert, Mitchell, and Pam Coven, Debra Korman, and Steve and Larry Coven. Ludmilla graduated from Von Steuben High School in 1947 and received her higher education at the University of Chicago. She earned a doctorate in Special Education from National Louis. She taught at New Trier High School for 20 years, where she served as the Teacher's Union president. Upon her retirement, Ludmilla founded a Yiddish class at the Highland Park Senior Center and passionately taught there until she was too ill to continue. She will be deeply missed by all whose lives she touched. Funeral service Weds, April 6, 1 PM at North Shore Congregation Israel, 1185 Sheridan Rd, Glencoe.
