
Passed into eternal life on January 15, 2016. Born in Chicago on June 9, 1922. The eldest son of the late Christ and Mary Pronos, cherished and beloved husband of 53 blessed years to Helen nee Barlos his precious and loving partner. Loving father of John (Eleni) and so proud grandfather of his precious angel Angelina. Loving brother of the late Julia, the late (Nick) Scolum, the late Bess (the late Bill) Leakas, the late Tony (Georgia) Pronoitis. Fond Uncle of many nieces and nephews and cousin in many States and Greece. A close friend to all he touched.
A Hyde Park high school graduate with business degree from Northwestern University. World War II enlisted veteran having served in the 27th division, fighting 69th regiment for 3 years serving in the Central Pacific area 1942-1945 in four campaigns with rank of Technical Sergeant. He received two Bronze star and was a sharp shooter. Upon returning from the war, he met and married his precious partner, Helen. They were very close and inseperable! They were always in love. Employed with Santa Fe Railroad for 37 years in the executive offices at 80 East Jackson until his retirement in 1982.
Resident of Wilmette for 55 years. Helen and Paul thoroughly enjoyed living on the North Shore and were loyal fans of Northwestern football and the Chicago Cubs for many years. He enjoyed a fine cigar and a strong brandy.
Visitation at St. Haralambos Greek Orthodox Church, 7373 N. Caldwell Ave., Niles, IL 60714 Tuesday, January 19, 2016. Friends and family will gather at 10:00 am till the time of funeral service at 10:30 am.
Interment will be at Memorial Park Cemetery, Skokie, IL. Per Paul’s request, in lieu of flowers kindly make contributions to your favorite charity.
