Born in Melbourne, Australia to doting parents Gregory Frederick Reardon and Marie Therese Reardon (nee' Sheehy), he was the younger brother to much admired (although he would never have told them that) Kerrie Frances (nee' Reardon) Bergwerf and Paula Jane Reardon; and playful uncle to Emma Lousie Godbold, Alexander Louis Godbold, Kyle Benjamin Bergwerf, Callum James Bergwerf and Georgia Frances Dunlea.
A graduate of Ignatius Park College and James Cook University in Townsville, northern Queensland, Phil’s academic, musical and sporting interests were outshone by his ability to surround himself with friends. Then came his overseas travels. Living and working in London, he met his (for the most part) adoring wife Sarah Jennifer Reardon nee Godbold. Their whirlwind romance led to a destination proposal and a Charles and Di equivalent wedding at which Phil ended up dressed only in an appropriately placed top hat with all the fire alarms at the hotel going off!!!
Their move to Sydney, Australia prompted the beginning of their family life and soon Phil accomplished his greatest achievement by the gifts of his incredible children Lille Grace, Madelaine Philippa "Maisie", Gabrielle Elizabeth "Ella" and Dominic Patrick Reardon. A career move landed the young family in Wilmette, Illinois, a northern suburb of Chicago where he took to life in a new community with his usual crazy enthusiasm and gusto.
The world is a quieter place without Phil’s booming voice which will be sadly missed by his friends from so many areas of his life, especially Brothers school, JCU basketball, Hendon rugby club, Hayes Crescent, the Croydon crew, SFX, the boisterous expat crowd, and his colleagues across 3 continents. We all thank Phil for the MANY many good times we shared with the man known by several names, son, brother, Reardo Weirdo, PG, Fertility Phil being just a few, but Daddy was definitely his favourite.
Phil, You are so much loved by so very many. Most especially by your Poppet, Princess, Moo Moo Chops, Winkle and Liiiiiiiitle Man who are forever skipping with you.
A funeral mass will be held on Thursday, January 15, 2026, 1:00 PM at St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church, 524 9th Street, Wilmette, IL 60091 (mass will be live streamed). A Celebration of Life will follow at Michigan Shores Club. You are invited to wear a little blue, with blue suede shoes highly encouraged!
