I and my husband, Wolfgang, first met Bob about six years ago through the book exchange at the Church- in- the - Chapel at Alice Millar.  We enjoyed the books he presented, and also speaking with him at church on Sundays when he attended with friends from Westminster.  When we visited him at Arden, we enjoyed seeing the photos of his family, of whom he was very proud. Our sympathies are with you.

Chris and Susan, Mom and Dad thought highly of your folks and Mr. Oberdorfer as well. Ginny, Mark, Lisa and I have you and your families in our thoughts.

When I moved to the Meadow in 1978 and was the winter sitter for the Huebner place they introduced me to their favorite neighbors, Bob and Helen. Over the years we shared many meals. It was a much closer Meadow then. The Piros, Huebners, Exums, Brunks and Fern Nelson were the fabric of the Meadow. I felt blessed to be included as the youngest of that special family. Unfortunately, most are all gone now and it will never be the same. I am so grateful to have known all of them and hold a special place in my heart for Bob and Helen, always gracious and welcoming. Bob would often invite me over for a beer in the afternoon when Helen was off somewhere, just wanting to talk and share some good stories. Talk about his day out fishing the river or of friends and family. I miss seeing him and his grandson who he taught to fish in my pond and seeing him in his old yellow bronco, knowing spring was here, he was back home which he dearly loved. Thanks for the special friendship Bob and Helen. It will always be remembered and cherished.

I have many years of great memories with Uncle Bob and Aunt Helen from visiting New Castle with my parents to many years together on the North Shore.  Great times when all the kids were together.  He had a wonderful life and accomplished so much I will miss him my thoughts and prayers are with you both.

Bob was a fixture of my teenage and early adult years in the Meadow Road community in Jackson Hole, Wyoming.  He (and Helen) were dear friends of my parents, Roy and Barbara Goodman, and often welcomed us into their home near the Snake River.  We spent many magical afternoons exploring the river near their home, at their behest, and many additional hours enjoying music together either in their living room or at the Grand Teton Music Festival that we frequently attended together.  In later years, Bob was most welcoming to my son when he was applying to colleges, giving my son a personal tour of his beloved alma mater, Northwestern, in Illinois.  Bob had an indomitable spirit that will remain with us in our hearts and minds.  He, and Helen before him, will truly be missed!  Love from Claire & Rusty Cloud, Ricky and Danny Pellegrini, and all the Goodmans!

I would see Bob just about every day at Arden while visiting my Mom.  They sat at the same table for meals and we would talk.  He told me about football at Northwestern and about his career.  He was lovely man.  Sadly, the day he passed was the day of Mom's funeral.  My condolences to all. Mom was Badonna.

Our family will always remember Uncle Bob.  He was good man who lived a full life and accomplished a lot.   Our deepest condolences to the entire family.
