Roland A. Gladstone, age 96, passed away on September 29th, 2021. He was born in Jersey City, NJ on December 7th, 1924 and spent most of his life in the Chicago area. His parents were Freda and Louis Gladstone. He was a WW2 combat veteran and served in the South Pacific theater, and upon his return graduated from Iowa State College. He was recalled to service during the Korean War, and when he returned to civilian life served in the Air Force Reserves until retiring as a Major. In civilian life, he worked for various corporations as a Mechanical Engineer.
Roland was preceded in death by his longtime friend & companion Maxine Sprung. He is survived by Maxine's family whom embraced him as one of their own; Marilyn (late Aron) Sprung, Murray (Arla) Sprung, Gary (Carolyn Hales) Sprung, Cindy Shekhtman, and Louis Shekhtman.
Graveside service will be held on Monday, October 4, 2021, 1:00 PM at Rosehill Cemetery, 5800 North Ravenswood Ave, Chicago, IL 60660.
