Russell George Olsson

May 30, 1938 - August 18, 2014

Russell George Olsson. 76 of Wilmette, IL. Beloved husband of Mary (Nee Baber). Loving father of Laura (Bill) Eggert, Nancy (Rich) Babcock, and Niel (Ruth) Olsson. Devoted Grandfather of Mike and Tom Eggert, Ian, Nick, Ryan, and Claire Babcock, Luke and Jane Olsson. His parents Margaret and Niels Olsson, and his sister Marcia Smith preceded Russ in death.

Born in Chicago, lived and attended school in Mt. Healthy, Ohio and Bellwood, IL, He also lived in Lombard, IL and Wheaton, IL. Studied at The School of the Art Institute of Chicago and The Institute of Design at Illinois Institute of Technology. Russ was an accomplished commercial photographer in Chicago for nearly 40 years and was owner of Russ Olsson Photography, Inc. and Olsson-Baber Photography, Inc. He was also an avid sailor and lover of nature. He spent as much time as he could on Washington Island, WI where he, his wife and family have a cabin.

Memorial Service to be held on Saturday, September 20 at 11:00 AM at Trinity United Methodist Church, 1024 Lake Ave. Wilmette, IL. In lieu of flowers you may make a contribution to CSAAC (Community Services for Autistic Adults and Children) 8615 East Village Ave., Montgomery Village, Maryland 20886.
