We grieve the loss of our mom, Sharon Lee Samuels, 88, passed away peacefully on July 23, 2025 alongside the comfort of her two sons. Born on December 24, 1936 in Dayton, Ohio, Sharon dedicated her life to creating a warm and nurturing home for her husband and their two children, Greg and Adam.
Sharon worked at Northwestern University helping students to obtain financial assistance to pursue their education. She also spent time working with children requiring special needs. She reveled in the service of helping others.
Sharon’s greatest joy came from spending time with her family and friends, fostering a loving environment and hosting get-togethers. She was a fantastic cook, and her holiday gatherings were eagerly anticipated. Sharon’s love for keeping a nice home for her family, and making sure everyone was comfortable and never went to bed hungry, was her pleasure for over five decades.
Sharon is survived by her children, Greg Smythe and Adam Samuels, daughter-in-laws Pam Smythe and Jen Samuels, brother Doug Flynn and sister Marcia Forsyth.
She is predeceased by her husband Frank, mother Ruth and father Robert.
